Gender Equity in the Accounting Profession: A Panel Discussion
Australian-first insights to better understand and address the gender pay gap, and identify other gender-based gaps in the accounting profession.
In 2021, Intuit Australia commissioned the research project “Gender equity in accounting: Addressing the career cliff” to provide Australian-first insights to better understand and address the gender pay gap, and identify other gender-based gaps in the accounting profession.
This year, in collaboration with Agile Market Intelligence, Intuit builds upon and updates the findings which will present clear trend data, focusing on key gaps identified in the initial research.
The panel discussion will explore employees' and employers' perceptions and opinions regarding gender equity in accounting. The panel will dive deep into remuneration, contract negotiation, and career path development. Panelists will also share their own experiences and insights on how they have navigated these challenges and ideas for progress to close these gaps. Discussion items covered in the research include:
- Perceptions and realities of the gender gap in accounting
- Confidence and mindsets towards negotiating and career path development,
- Systems and processes to overcome perceived and real gaps; and,
- The role of the industry in addressing these gaps.
All attendees will receive a copy of the latest research findings.
