Pitcher Partners Sydney adds 2 new audit partners
The firm says it is tailoring its efforts to cater to clients who are ‘seeking alternatives’ to the big four firms.
Pitcher Partner’s Sydney office is welcoming two new audit partners, Maya Sutanto and Nathan Balban. John Brazzale, consultant and national chairman at Pitcher Partners said the move forms part of the firms’ efforts to capture clients looking beyond the big four.
Sutanto will bring over 20 years’ experience in the automotive sector, having worked at the US-based accounting and consulting firm Crowe LLP for over a decade.
Apart from her international experience, Sutanto said she hopes to bring “technology focus” to her new role – which she will begin in early April.
“Technology helps to complete audits quicker, it can be a very good teaching tool, and from a consulting perspective, an internal audit platform can really leverage the data you can get from a dealership,” she said.
On the other hand, Balban, who started on 5 March, will rely on more than a quarter-century’s experience in providing audit and assurance services to consumer businesses, retail, and manufacturing clients at both PwC and Deloitte.
“I’m passionate about working with middle-market and private family businesses,” he said, adding “personalization” is the “real key to an outstanding experience.”
“Businesses are operating in increasingly complex environments, and I can help them navigate and find solutions to the different challenges and opportunities they are facing,” said Balban.
Managing director of Pitcher Partners Sydney, Adam Irwin explained the firm was making a “strategic investment” in auditing to meet growing demand for assurance services among middle-market players.
“There is a general expectation that people want more from their audit partners,” said Irwin, adding “we are seeing a fair bit of movement at the moment.”
