PKF Australia announced the opening of a new Darwin branch this week, further expanding its presence across the nation.

With an office now in every territory and state, PKF have established themselves in the Darwin market with local Darwin accounting services company, Merit Partners, joining its network.

Merit Partners will now be known as PKF Merit and stated they were looking forward to working with PKF Australia.

PFK Australia chairman Steve Meyn said he is thrilled by the addition of Merit Partners, now PKF merit to the Australian network.

“We are delighted to welcome PKF Merit to the PKF Australia network,” he said.

“With PKF Merit as part of our team, PKF gains valuable skills, knowledge, and diversity of thinking.”

Before joining the PKF network, Merit Partners consisted of four directors and 40 members of staff.

With the addition of the Darwin practice, PKF Australia’s network will now consist of over 800 staff members and over 100 partners.

“The collaboration has been easy given our mutually shared values. I’m a firm believer that shared values underpin any successful partnership,” Meyn said.

In a statement to Accountants Daily, Meyn outlined what it means for PKF Australia to have physical presence in every state and territory.

“This physical presence, with regional representation, improved our ability to offer all clients access to local expertise, insights and resources, wherever required,”

“We are proud to have the people of PKF Merit in our team, we look forward to providing additional insights and value for all clients, and to contributing to the wellbeing of the local Northern Territory community where we can,” Meyn said.

In response to the merge, PKF managing director Matthew Kennon said joining the PKF network will significantly benefit the growth and success of the Darwin practice.

“Like PKF, Merit Partners has grown significantly over recent years. We are committed to propelling the success of our clients, our people and our community,” he said.

“Joining the PKF network provides us with access to national and global experts, ensuring that we continue to meet our clients’ ever-expanding needs.”

Kennon said a valuable benefit that will be experienced by the company’s clients and staff members will be the broader scope of accessibility and opportunities, while still being a locally owned business.

“And like other member firms of PKF Australia, PKF Merit remains a locally owned and operated business, so our clients and employees can expect the same level of care that they have experienced until now…with access to more capabilities,” Kennon said.
