Accounting professionals will need to upskill ahead of the anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing reforms.

As the anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CTF) reforms deadline looms, accounting professionals and firms must act now to ensure they meet required obligations.

Captivate Q has announced the launch of the AML Edge 2025 event to provide accounting professionals with the essential insights and tools to navigate the upcoming AML/CTF reforms in July 2026.

Captivate Q program director Louisa Thomas said the one-day conference will be held on Thursday, 27 March and would help accounting professionals tackle the reforms without disrupting client service or operational efficiency.

“As a key focus of AML/CTF regulations, the reforms will require accounting firms to adopt stronger due diligence processes, transaction monitoring, and risk assessment frameworks,” she said.

“AML Edge 2025 will help accounting businesses understand how to implement these changes seamlessly and protect their firms from the risks of non-compliance.”

The conference is set to feature dedicated sessions tailored for the accounting profession including how to adapt to AML/CTF compliance, learning the lessons of other jurisdictions and practical compliance steps to avoid business paralysis.

The conference will also include guidance from AML/CTF experts including Jeremy Moller, Grace Mason, Alice Bexson, Timothy Goodrick and Daniel Mossop.

Thomas said she was excited to help accountants respond swiftly to the market’s need for up-to-date information and support surrounding the tranche 2 AML/CTF reforms.

“Compliance isn’t optional, and the clock is ticking. AML Edge 2025 is designed to help the accounting profession tackle these regulatory challenges head-on,” she said.

“In just one day, attendees can gain critical and actionable insights from AML experts and industry leaders who are already leading the way with their compliance strategies.”

Scheduled panel sessions will also include state of play, the road to tranche 2, what accountants needed to know, roles of an AML/CTF compliance officer, as well as extensive Q&A sessions.

AML Edge 2025 will be held at Watersedge, Sydney and will help accountants get ahead of the curve, learn from industry leaders, collaborate with other tranche 2 business professionals from the legal and real estate sectors as well as learn actionable strategies.

“With the compliance deadline looming, staying informed and prepared has never been more critical,” Thomas said.

“AML Edge 2025 is your opportunity to gain practical insights and actionable strategies to meet your firm’s obligations and stay ahead of regulatory demands. Don’t wait until it’s too late – register for AML Edge 2025 today and lead your firm confidently through this regulatory transformation.”
