Deloitte buys automation consultants Efficientia Solutions
The acquisition will improve Deloitte’s client offerings and market presence in the highly specialist and high-demand area of industrial and manufacturing technology.
Deloitte is set to acquire the Efficientia Solutions team to support industrial and manufacturing businesses, marking the second acquisition the big four firm has announced this month.
Efficientia Solutions is focused on providing industrial and manufacturing sector technology integration and support.
Their team of consultants and engineers provide solutions to meet the challenges of modern manufacturing, processing and distribution requirements.
Deloitte strategy, risk and transactions managing partner, David McCarthy said the move will boost the services Deloitte can offer to its clients in the industrial and manufacturing sectors.
“The Efficientia Solutions team will help our clients create competitive advantage as operational technology solutions play an increasingly important role in driving productivity and asset returns, especially across the industrial and manufacturing sectors,” he said.
Former Efficientia Solutions managing director, Gordon Cornish, will lead a team of seven into the Deloitte merge.
The new members will become part of Deloitte’s smart manufacturing practice across Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane.
Deloitte industrials leader Jesse Sherwood (pictured) said Deloitte is looking forward to the merger and believes it will be a beneficial move.
“Efficientia Solutions has been very well regarded in the market, and we’re excited to be welcoming Gordon and his team to Deloitte,” Sherwood said.
“The next wave of productivity will come from digitising physical operations for our asset-intensive, manufacturing and industrial clients, and bringing that information into their core business systems to unlock value.”
Through this merger, Deloitte stated it is hoping to better its systems and capabilities as a professional service provider.
“The Efficientia Solutions team brings that capability to Deloitte,” Sherwood said.
“Their deep experience in working with clients to leverage best-in-class operational technology solutions, including automation software, manufacturing execution systems and integration of OT with enterprise IT systems will complement Deloitte’s existing advisory, technology and transformation capabilities and deep sector experience.”
