EY appoints new global forensic and integrity services lead
The big four firm has announced the appointment of Dilek Çilingir as global forensic and integrity services leader.
Following the retirement of Andrew Gordon in June this year, EY appointed Dilek Çilingir as the new global forensic and integrity services leader.
The firm said within the role, Çilingir was expected to guide EY forensics on a global scale as it continued to grow and expand and to support organisations worldwide in managing and restoring their financial reputations.
The role, effective immediately, would also require Çilingir to play a key role in driving audit quality in the business.
EY global vice chair Marie-Laure Delarue said Çilingir’s experience put her in a perfect position to step into the role.
“Dilek has a fantastic track record built up during a career over decades and across several countries and business areas,” Delarue said.
“Her strong credentials in forensics and her natural ability to forge connections and to lead and inspire global teams, mean that she’s extremely well placed to take EY forensics to the next stage of growth.”
The EY global forensic team of 5,500 forensic, law enforcement, compliance, regulatory and technology professionals help organisations and their legal counsel respond to disputes, attacks, and crises.
The firm noted that the team also worked with businesses to make integrity “at the heart” of compliance programs to ensure they were better equipped to manage ethical and reputational risks.
Based on Çilingir’s 30 years of industry experience in leadership roles on an international scale, she was the right choice for the role, EY said.
Çilingir previously led EY assurance services in Turkey for nine years and established a practice there, as well as in nine other countries.
For the past four years, Çilingir served as EY's global talent leader for assurance services and oversaw talent strategy and implementation for all EY assurance services internationally.
Çilingir led a team of 130,000 people in more than 140 countries.
Before beginning a career at EY, Çilingir spent eight years with another global professional services firm in the US where she led a varied portfolio of Fortune 500 client engagements and a diverse global team.
Çilingir said the appointment into the new role felt like a step in the right direction.
“EY forensics is where I began my time as an EY leader, and it feels like home,” she said.
“It’s a business that’s gone from strength to strength, and with integrity and ethics under the intense global spotlight, the opportunity for further growth is clear.”
“I am very proud to be able to return to serve as its leader and I look forward to working with EY teams in support of clients across the globe.”
