moore australia reaches rte ca anz status

The accounting network has achieved ‘recognised training employer’ status under the CA ANZ employer alliance program.

Moore Australia (MA) is a network of independent accounting, tax and advisory firms which has achieved the goal of reaching ‘recognised training employer’ (RTE) status.

The association has over 550 staff members and multiple offices across the country.

MA is also an independent member of the of Moore Global, the 11th largest professional services network around the world.
Moore Australia general manager Lana Weldon said the RTE application process was “rigorous,” yet shows the quality CA ANZ expect from successful candidates.

During the “rigorous” application process, CA ANZ look at a candidate’s performance management system and how these are embedded to ensure competency in a business’ framework.

Weldon said the newly achieved status is recognition of the quality of training MA firms provide to CA students for the duration of their studies.

“Becoming an RTE is a testament to the way in which we look after our CA students,” she said.

“Having RTE status not only evidences the quality of training CA students receive at Moore Australia, but gives them the confidence that they will be set up for success in a profession which is facing huge changes in the foreseeable future.”

Weldon said gaining the RTE position will significantly benefit MA through the experience and learning systems they provide their CA students.

MA CA candidates will no longer need to record their practical experience in a logbook, the company will now be able to offer better support for its program candidates and mentors will be able to sign off on competencies for students.

“At such a crucial stage in a person’s career, their full journey matters,” Weldon said.

“Our commitment to the professional services industry is to deliver on our promise to support staff at every level of their career, in a way that is relevant to them.”

In an interview with Accountants Daily, Weldon said Moore’s main goal is to be known for putting the best CAs in the market.

“It’s about continuing to develop our people. We want to be known for training the best CAs and retaining them,” she said.

“So, either the clients are going to get the best CAs working for us, or we’re going to be giving back to the profession, the industry and seeing our alumni in some really powerful positions.”

Weldon said she is thrilled with the new RTE status and believes it will further elevate the enjoyable experience MA provides.

“How better to support our next generation of chartered accountants than by giving the best possible training experience?”
