Audit firm promotes four multicultural auditors, including three women, in diversity push.

National Audits Group (NAG) has made a round of mid-year promotions it says underscores its “commitment to growth, diversity and inclusion”.

The appointments elevate four auditors, three of whom are women, all born outside of Australia, effective 1 July.

“These promotions highlight our commitment to supporting the growth of our employees and celebrating their achievements,” the firm said.

“Our diverse team brings fresh perspectives and innovative solutions, enriching our work environment and enhancing our services. We believe that a diverse workforce is key to driving creativity and delivering exceptional client solutions.”

Gansen Pappiah would be promoted to director while Natasha Zulharmen, Sanny Fajarini and Ruby Shih would advance to senior auditors.

Pappiah, originally from South Africa, had over 20 years of business management and SMSF audit experience, the firm said, previously managing a franchise service provider company specialising in sales, development and the management of franchise businesses.

“His friendly and professional approach, combined with his deep passion for finance and accounting, has helped him build strong client relationships and resolve complex issues effectively,” the firm said.

“Gansen’s commitment to delivering exceptional service and his ability to foster positive business relationships have been instrumental in his rapid progression at NAG.”

Natasha Zulharmen, who would be promoted to senior auditor, moved from Indonesia to Melbourne to “further her studies and career”.

Since joining NAG in 2019, the firm said she had gained experience in the AFSL industry, managing around 25 clients and recently becoming a CPA.

“Natasha's dedication to learning and client-focused approach have made her an invaluable team member,” it said, praising her “rigorous” analytical skills and ability to navigate complex audits.

“Natasha has built strong professional relationships, always focusing on individual client needs and striving to exceed their expectations.”

“Her relentless drive to learn and technical proficiency ensure the quality of her work, making her a valuable asset to the team.”

Joining Zulharmen as a new senior auditor would be Sanny Fajarni. The firm said Fajarni discovered her passion for auditing after an internship at RSM Indonesia and receiving degrees in accounting, finance and economics.

She then joined NAG as an external auditor in 2021 and planned on receiving her CPA designation “in the next few months”.

“Sanny’s technical knowledge, coupled with her eagerness to learn, has made her a standout auditor,” the firm said.

“She enjoys working directly with clients and collaborating with the NAG team, gaining valuable insights from various organisations and audit types.”

The final auditor promoted would be Ruby Shih. She was born in Taiwan and came to Australia in 2022 and is a CPA with a master’s degree in commerce (finance and accounting).

Shih was “passionate about the audit industry” and was interested in improving businesses’ financial reporting processes and internal controls.

“Ruby enjoys engaging with diverse clients and solving complex problems."

“Ruby lives by the motto ‘work hard, play hard’ and balances her professional and personal life with dedication.”
