Moore Australia (QLD/NNSW) has announced the acquisition of Nexia Brisbane, effective 1 October 2024.

The QLD/NNSW branch of the professional services firm revealed Nexia Brisbane has joined the company, rebranding as Moore Australia.

The merger of the two companies has grown the Moore Australia (QLD/NNSW) team to 26 partners and 225 team members.

Moore Australia (QLD/NNSW) CEO Matt Thomson said it is an exciting step for the firm and he is looking forward to leading the combined team.

“Nexia Brisbane is a great fit for us, bringing strong value alignment and commitment to providing an exceptional client and employee experience,” he said.

“Caring about clients’ success and the quality of personalised service clients receive is paramount to both our existing and new Moore colleagues.”

Thomson said the merger is another step in a “strategic growth plan” to be agile like clients and local business operators.

Nexia Brisbane managing director Ann-Maree Robertson said joining the Moore network will enhance client service offerings while bringing together two like-minded cultures and capabilities.

“The commitment of learning and development will provide team members with hundreds of hours of training, career development programs and more,” Robertson said.

“I am excited by the career opportunities for the next generation of the team and the support from the Moore network.”

Moore Australia chair David Tomasi has welcomed the addition of Nexia to the Moore Australia network.

“The future of our profession lies in our ability to remain agile as both service providers and employers,” Tomasi said.

“It is great to see our member firms grow and join with firms who have a strong cultural and strategic affinity with the Moore Australia network and share our drive to innovate, whilst remaining reactive to our changing environment.”

“The diversity in skills, knowledge, experience and perspectives brought by the newest Moore Australia team members will no doubt have a positive and lasting impact on our network.”
