RSM Australia has made eight appointments at its Perth branch to bolster its business advisory, agribusiness, resources, mining and energy divisions.

The RSM Australia Perth branch has announced the appointment of Murray Fong to partner in its business advisory division, along with various other appointments.

RSM Australia said Fong has more than 15 years’ experience in advising a diverse range of clients in the SME sector with extensive expertise in agriculture, mining services, retail, transport, dealerships and property.

Fong said he is grateful to have been promoted to partner at RSM Australia.

“I joined the firm in Geraldton as an undergraduate in 2007 and have progressed to partner,” he said.

“This highlights the opportunities, training and development that RSM can provide to graduates today.”

“The people and culture of RSM are what makes it special, we have such a great team.”

According to the company, Fong understands the agribusiness landscape and possesses specialised knowledge needed to address challenges farming operators face.

“Fong has been responsible for major projects including advising and negotiating on sale of multiple sizeable machinery business; restructuring and refinancing significant agriculture enterprises, as well as budgeting and cashflow management,” RSM said.

“Fong has also been in charge of the review for mining services to implement cost and control measures and the implementation of succession planning for multi-generational businesses.”

RSM Australia Perth has also announced the appointment of Craig Amos to national leader for resources, mining and energy.

Amos has more than two decades of experience in finance, strategy, mergers and acquisitions and corporate development.

RSM said Amos is a partner of the corporate finance division, is an experienced chartered accountant and has worked as CFO at ASX-listed and large private companies.

Amos has expertise in energy and utilities, engineering, information technology, property, construction and mining.

Amos said he is excited to take on the extra responsibilities as national leader for resources, mining and energy.

“Being based in Perth, the epicentre of Australia’s enormous mining, resources and energy sectors, it’s an incredible opportunity to support and advise our clients as they continue to deliver profound impacts to the economy,” Amos said.

Along with these two appointments, RSM Australia Perth also announced six new directors to the areas of corporate tax, restructuring and recovery, indirect tax, global employer services, technology consulting and fraud and forensics.

RSM said they welcome the appointed directors, Kristy Bines, Phil Davie, Theresa Myburgh, Gina Nedeljkovic, Gavin O’Hara and Michael Cassidy to their new roles.
