The Access Group snags ex-Karbon MD in key appointment
The Access Group has revealed the appointment of Jared Baker to lead its accountant’s division.
The Access Group (TAG) has named ex-Karbon managing director, Jared Baker, as general manager for its accountant’s division in its latest string of key senior appointments.
Previously managing director for Karbon in the Asia-Pacific region and senior executive of Xero, Baker would bring 20 years of global technology leadership and experience to his new role at Access.
TAG president Kerry Agiasotis said Baker had transformed start-ups into high-growth market leaders.
“I am thrilled to have Jared join the team. He will be central to our strategy to deliver an integrated suite of best-in-class applications underpinned by next-generation technology platforms for our customers,” Agiasotis said.
“This latest appointment is a key part of our growth strategy in the region, which will be further accelerated thanks to Jared’s deep experience in the industry and reputation for delivering world-class experiences through customer-driven product solutions.”
TAG said it was actively addressing and navigating the increasing complexity from the proliferation of point solutions for the accounting firms it worked with across Australia and New Zealand.
Prior to his appointment, Baker said he had been watching TAG with interest for the past few years and was curious about its strategy for accountants in the region after witnessing multiple significant industry acquisitions.
“I met with several senior leaders from Access when considering this role, and what was obvious from every interaction was their commitment and vision for helping accounting firms maximise the growth opportunities presented by new technologies,” he said.
“I feel incredibly aligned to the Access passion and enthusiasm, sharing the belief that a strong accounting industry is key to the success and growth of so many businesses in this region.”
“I will relish the opportunity to drive this vision and strategy forward, working with the team to deliver great solutions and next-generation technology to existing and new customers.”
David Boyar, general manager of ChangeGPS (a part of TAG), said Baker’s appointment was a big win in its mission to bring a “new vision to life in the Australian accounting landscape.”
