Traci Houpapa joins CA ANZ board, brings valuable expertise
Traci Houpapa, a New Zealand company director and government adviser, has joined the board of directors at CA ANZ, adding her expertise in governance and leadership to the team.
One of the BBC's Top 100 Most Influential Women in 2016, Traci Houpapa, has taken a seat on the board of directors at Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ). Houpapa's experience in running successful organizations and her valuable expertise in governance and leadership will bring a strong holistic perspective to the board table, according to CA ANZ Chair John Palermo.
"Traci brings a wealth of experience in governance and leadership for private and public sector entities," Palermo said. "She will add a strong holistic perspective to our board table, to help us deliver on our strategic vision of delivering a world-class member experience."
Houpapa has been recognized for her work with New Zealand agribusinesses and Maori, receiving the Massey University Distinguished Alumni Service Award and the Westpac Fairfax Media Women of Influence Board and Management award. In addition, she serves as a director for various entities, including the Chiefs Ruby Club, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, Te Arawa Group Holdings, and the Australia NZ Leaders Forum Indigenous Business Group.
"I am honored to be recognized as one of the BBC's top 100 women," Houpapa said. "I am passionate about improving policy and legislation and facilitating change in terms of policy, legislation, not only in terms of government but also in terms of the private sector."
In her role as a government adviser, Houpapa has been working to effect positive change for her people and is dedicated to making a difference in the world. "Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be recognized in such a magnificent way," she added.
