William Buck announces new chair for Australia and New Zealand
Greg Travers, who has been with the firm for 25 years, has been appointed chair of William Buck Australia and New Zealand.
Accounting firm William Buck has appointed tax partner Greg Travers to replace outgoing chair Jamie McKeough.
William Buck said Travers has been an integral part of the firm for more than 25 years, earning a reputation as one of Australia’s foremost tax experts and thought leaders.
McKeough said that Travers’ leadership will ensure the firm can continue to embrace transformation and respond to the shifting needs of clients.
“Greg has fostered an environment at William Buck where talent thrives and exceptional results are delivered,” McKeough said.
“His collaborative leadership style, relationship driven approach and strong alignment with our values and vision, make him the ideal leader for our next stage of growth.”
Travers acknowledged McKeough's significant contribution.
McKeough assumed the position of chair after 15 years on the board, including 10 years as deputy chair.
He was also managing partner of William Buck Adelaide for 18 years until 2024. McKeough will continue to leverage his knowledge, experience and relationships to mentor the next generation of leaders to support the future growth of the Adelaide office.
“Having played a pivotal role in shaping the William Buck brand, Jamie’s four years as Chair saw the firm build on its prior successes, achieving over 50 per cent revenue growth and a 46 per cent increase in partner numbers,” Travers said.
“He championed the establishment of our William Buck Foundation, which enables us to positively impact our communities, and helped build a unique culture of care at William Buck.
In his new role as chair, Travers said he will focus on how to collaborate, innovate and leverage the extensive expertise and experience at William Buck to deliver superior outcomes for clients and outstanding experiences for the firm’s people.
