ACCA and AICD bolster industry sectors with new partnership
The two sector bodies have announced a partnership to improve expertise and strategy in the accountancy and tax professions.
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) have announced a partnership aimed at enhancing accounting and tax industries.
The partnership was formed based on professional excellence and strategic acumen within the sectors, focused on global insights and local expertise.
The bodies said the agreement would significantly deepen the existing collaboration between them and provide members with more access to “best-in-class” professional insights and “world-leading” professional development support.
ACCA executive director of relationships, Lucia Real Martin, said there was a shared vision to champion the role of accountancy as a pivotal force in the centre of the partnership.
“In a world where the accountant’s role is evolving beyond traditional boundaries, our collaboration with AICD marks a significant leap forward,” she said.
“Together, we will work to empower our members' access to a holistic suite of training that span ethical leadership, strategic governance and more skills that are essential for navigating today’s complex business landscapes.”
The new agreement called for both organisations to commit to a two-way collaboration on joint learning and development initiatives, which included competencies, skills and training mapping.
The bodies noted they also pursued the collaborative promotion of their member offer and qualifications.
Together, they helped co-develop “the highest possible standards” at the top of Australia’s business sectors.
Real Martin said she is thrilled about the partnership.
“The accountant of today is not only about technical finance knowledge but about all aspects of creating value through business partnering and ethical leadership,” she said.
“With AICD’s unrivalled governance accreditation, our members will be able to diversify their skills to provide greater strategic value and guidance.”
ACCA said the partnership would facilitate a seamless pathway to unlocking corporate sector opportunities and bolster the existing alliance with CA ANZ.
The bodies said they looked forward to the positive impact the collaboration would have on their members and broader professional community.
