kpmg boosts sap capabilities with acquisition of think180

KPMG Australia expands its SAP offerings by acquiring Adelaide-based SAP firm, Think180.

KPMG Australia has announced the acquisition of Adelaide-based SAP firm, Think180. The agreement adds 30 people to KPMG's existing SAP team, furthering its capabilities in key business technology.

Andrew Yates, CEO of KPMG Australia, said in a statement, “SAP is a world leader in business technology and KPMG is investing heavily in growing our offerings in this space. By combining KPMG’s capabilities alongside Think180’s, we are creating one of the leading SAP intelligent and enterprise asset management specialist teams in Australia.”

John Schultz, CEO of Think180, described the acquisition as an opportunity to improve processes and expand the impact of both firms. He added, “Having built a long history delivering SAP solutions that transform business processes, realise more from existing SAP investments and utilise the latest technologies - joining KPMG represents a unique opportunity for us to ‘level up’ and expand our reach and impact.”

The acquisition will see Think180's co-founders, John Schultz and Stephen Silver, join KPMG as partners, while their other co-founder, Peter Butler, will join as a principal director. Pauline Doherty, KPMG's existing SAP technology head and partner, expressed her excitement at adding further expertise to the practice, saying, “The acquisition of Think180 reflects KPMG’s commitment to providing industry-leading SAP services to meet the needs of the Australian market.”

SAP is a leading provider of enterprise resource planning (ERP) products, offering software for human capital management, supply chain management, and enterprise performance management. KPMG confirmed that the Think180 business would become part of KPMG later this year, subject to the successful completion of the acquisition.

In conclusion, the acquisition of Think180 by KPMG Australia is a significant move that underlines the firm's commitment to technology transformation capability and its focus on merging expert capabilities with a "whole of business" mindset to support its clients. By adding Think180's expertise to its existing team, KPMG is well positioned to offer its clients the industry-leading SAP services they need to succeed in the rapidly changing business landscape.
