Xero reveals $690,000 sustainability fund for small businesses
It said the Xero Beautiful Business Fund has been created to “support the future aspirations of small businesses globally.
Xero has launched its inaugural Xero Beautiful Business Fund to help support and empower the success of small businesses globally.
The firm said the fund was designed to “celebrate small businesses, empower success and accelerate their growth”. It was first announced on the 17th anniversary of Xero’s creation.
CEO of Xero, Sukhinder Singh Cassidy, said the firm hopes the fund will help boost small businesses globally.
“Xero Day – the anniversary of when it all started for Xero – is our opportunity to connect and celebrate our small business customers all around the world,” said Ms Singh Cassidy.
“This year, we are pleased to be launching the Xero Beautiful Business Fund to allocate funds to back small businesses in their future aspirations and help them achieve whatever success means to them.”
“We believe small businesses run the world and as champions of small business, Xero is providing an opportunity for customers to apply for funding to take their next step. Whether that be to support a passion to become a more sustainable business, upskill employees, philanthropic work in the community, or integrating the latest AI into their business, the fund is here to help small businesses meet their dreams.”
Customers in the eligible countries can apply for the funding from 23 August, the first day of Xerocon Sydney, with applications closing 6 October.
The firm confirmed the Xero Beautiful Business Fund will have four funding categories for organisations to apply for, which are:
- Innovating for sustainability – for small businesses looking to advance their sustainability whether through sustainable packaging, implementing energy-efficient equipment or carbon-neutral transport.
- Trailblazing with technology – for organisations looking to digitise parts of their operations or integrate emerging technology.
- Strengthening community connection – for firms or non-profits looking to grow community connection such as contributing to philanthropy, social good, or making an impact on the community in a meaningful way.
- Upskilling for the future – for small businesses looking to upskill themselves or their employees and to access training and development for further growth.
Xero said further information about the fund would be available when the application process opens on 23 August.
“Funding will be distributed to winners at a regional and global level,” the firm said.
“We look forward to sharing the full details on global and regional funding allocations when we open the call for applications on 23 August.”
