Lamborghini is celebrating its 60th anniversary year with its first hybrid supercar, the Revuelto. The successor to the brand’s flagship Aventador moves away from a naturally aspirated V12 engine to one supplemented by electric motors, powered by lithium ion battery pack. With one electric motor driving each front wheel and another integral with the eight-speed gearbox, the extra power of adds up to 747kW, delivering a zero to 100km/h time of 2.5 seconds and top speed above 350km/h. In the city it can drive without emissions in fully electric mode. The body, constructed of carbon fibre, features Lamborghini’s signature upward opening scissor doors. Company CEO Stephan Winkelmann said the car was a landmark on the road to electrification. “Revuelto was born to break the mould, combining a new 12-cylinder engine with hybrid technology, creating the perfect balance between delivering the emotion our clients want with the necessity to reduce emissions.”
