The Perth Mint has released the latest in its range of diamond-studded coins in the Jewelled Snake.

The snake, with a face value of $2,500, features hand-set Argyle pink diamonds and white diamonds forming the beast set in three-dimensional 18 carat gold.

Described as “an exceptional collectable showcasing rare and spectacular treasures from two West Australian icons: Argyle Pink Diamonds and the Perth Mint”, just eight snake coins will be produced.

“The Jewelled Snake coins are expected to be purchased quickly by avid collectors,” the Perth Mint says.

The Jewelled Snake is the sixth release in a Masterpiece Series which already includes diamond-studded coins featuring a phoenix, dragon, tiger, horse and koi coins.
